OMUT-KM - electronic warfare suit for individual protection of aircraft for SU-27, SU-30 aircrafts


Control and display panel is installed in a pilot cabin. Additionally, the panel provides a system control (switch-ing on/off a transmit­ter, “front hemisphere” or “both front and rear hemisphere” mode selection, jamming vari­ants, etc.).

The Control test is performed automati­cally at the Omut-KM system start. In case of emergency, the information about failed unit is transmitted to the control and display panel. A multifunctional display (MFD) performs the functions of the control and display panel.


SSPA-2X25 WIDEBAND SOLID-STATE POWER AMPLIFIER
The SSPA-2x25 wideband solid-state power amplifier is designed for application as a power output amplifier in electronic jamming airborne equipment, as well as in wideband wireless systems and radar stations.

SSPA-2x25 provides:

  • input signal phase change in a range of 0-360;
  • input signal leveling in a wide values range (over 60 dB);
  • overheat protection with power supply blocking;
  • secondary power supply voltage generation for external devices;
  • amplifier operation diagnostics with emer­gency signal generation;
  • interaction with external devices by means of digital interfaces.

MULTICHANNEL WIDEBAND PHASE-FREQUENCY MODULATOR (BFS-KM)

The multichannel wideband phasefrequency modulator is designed for the application in electronic jamming airborne equipment. The modulator generates target jamming in vari­ous ways in automatic and manual modes. One of the jamming generation ways is the use of DRFM and AWG technologies.


BFS-KM provides:

  • phase and/or frequency modulation of the input irradiating signals;
  • digital amplification control;
  • interaction with external devices by means of digital interfaces.

WIDEBAND SHF SIGNAL RECEIVER (BPR-KM)

The wideband SHF signal receiver is de­signed for the application in electronic jamming airborne equipment. The receiver performs re­ception of input SHF signals with the low noise level as well as preamplification of that signals. BPR-KM provides:

  • signals detection in a full frequency range;
  • test signals generation;
  • storage of received radio signals pulse pa­rameters (period, duration, etc.);
  • interaction with external devices by means of digital interfaces.

The multichannel digital receiver is designed for application in electronic jamming airborne equipment. The receiver performs reception of wideband HF signal, signal distribution to reception channels as well as received signal conversion on an intermediate frequency.

MULTIFUNCTIONAL INDICATOR (MFI-27)

The MFI-27 multifunctional indicator is a part of the aircraft and helicopter cabin equipment, which may be installed, for instance, in Su-27 and MiG-29 fighter aircrafts. The indicator with 5”x4” LCD screen provides supportive opera­tor performance in all external luminance. Ac­tive liquid-crystal matrix has high-resolution capacity and wide look angle and that provides proper data displaying even in solar illumina­tion. The indicator control panel has built-in au­tomatic brightness control system. Two tilting manipulators (display and buttons brightness control) and 20 multifunctional buttons are set to the control panel. It is possible to download the software via an external connector.

PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION

The Omut-KM jamming station main opera­tional principle is continuous interaction be­tween the multichannel digital reception units, analysis units and radio signal modulating units.

Frequency range continuous scanning, with instantaneous analysis of 1 GHz frequency band, is performed by means of the multichan­nel digital receiver unit and signal analysis unit.

In the phase of analyzing, the instantaneous frequency bandwidth is passed through mul­tichannel speed digitalizing, spectral analysis for potential threat searching, electronic en­vironment changes measuring as well as de­termined threat prioritization. The modulator control commands for each target individual jamming are generated due to gathered infor­mation.

The multichannel SHF signal phase-fre­quency modulator offers the possibility to per­form independent effective jamming for 10 objects. Every interference effect is the sum of repeated signal and combination of modula­tions such as amplitude, frequency and phase.

The DRFM technology application gives the possibility to perform a spectral image multiple radiation of the enemy radio-electronic equip­ment, engaged during a signal reception, and which result is multiple target pips on a vision indicator, which greatly complicates the actual target isolation.

When the Omut-KM active jamming station is used as an action aid, then it is possible to apply the AWG technology, which provides the possibility to irradiate the enemy radio-elec­tronic equipment using one of the memorized composite radio signals.

MAINTENANCE
A slight modification of an aircraft is required for the Omut-KM container and equipment in­stallation. Simultaneously, the Omut-KM is not required to be integrated into an aircraft air­borne equipment complex.
Each container of the Omut-KM has built-in check. In case of failure, a built-in tests system finds a failed unit. The failed unit replacement is performed without extra system setting.
Flight preparation avoids the need to use the special-purpose tools. The extra settings are not required after an airborne jamming system installation.
The Omut-KM system does not occupy a point of an aircraft hook station and that pro­vides the possibility to fix an aircraft standard weapon under container.
